For 100 years, NRMA Insurance has been helping Australians protect what matters most.
From bushfires and floods to storms and cyclones, we’ve seen the devastating impact of extreme weather on communities. In a changing climate, these events are becoming more frequent and severe[1]. That’s why they believe more needs to be done to help prepare communities and build awareness around climate resilience.
The NRMA Insurance Help Fund is an initiative that aims to support climate resilience in Australia. Climate Salad has been engaged by NRMA Insurance to help deliver the Innovation Stream program.
The Help Fund will provide funding to support emerging climate leaders, community resilience projects and innovative solutions that are focused on helping communities better prepare for the impacts of extreme weather.
The Help Fund Innovation Stream will provide grants to support local climate innovations that aim to address risk, resilience, and adaptation.

In Australia, we are exposed to just about every possible hazard - from fires and floods to severe thunderstorms and tropical cyclones.
In a warming climate, extreme weather events will become more frequent and intense for many regions in Australia[2].
The social and economic impacts of disasters are growing — with long recovery times and disproportionate effects on vulnerable communities[3,4].
Understanding the power of resilience is essential to help communities better prepare, withstand, recover, and adapt to our changing climate.
NRMA Insurance has a long history of helping communities prepare for, recover from and adapt to extreme weather. They have partnered with community organisations and worked with governments to champion improved disaster resilience.
NRMA Insurance’s Help Fund, a new funding program, aims to continue its efforts to support climate resilience in Australia.
Climate risk is complex — no single organisation can address it alone. That’s why NRMA Insurance believes in the power of helping others on their way to supporting stronger, more resilient communities.
The Help Fund is a practical, values-led investment in people and ideas with the potential for powerful and lasting change.
